The big problem with using this tutorial is the lack of quota management. TimeMachine just keep the backing up until the disk is full - so setting a quota would be nice.

It would also be really cool if you could do this easily from the webinterface.

You were rigth, mad; you don't need to recompile the kernel for the afpd daemon to work - and that is all that is needed for newer Mac OS X systems to connect via AFP.

However - it is not quite as easy as that, of course. The newer versions of Mac OS X does not like connecting via afpd if username ...

I have, without luck, been trying to get AFP working on my Bubba|Two. Has anyone managed to get it working?

The package netatalk seems to install just fine - but when I try to start the service with a "/etc/init.d/netatalk restart" I get the following response:

bubba:/etc/netatalk ...

Just to clarify; I don't need the webinterface to support AFP configuration - although, it would be nice, of course. All I am trying to do is get the apt package "netatalk" to work. So if anyone has managed to configure it so they have AFP working, I would love to hear how.

I still get the following output when I try to restart the daemon:

Did you manage to change mt-daap? If so, I would love to hear how. =)

Yeah - this is really strange. Has anyone had any luck with replacing the applet with something else?

I've used kPlaylist with some luck. It works on MOST browsers, but I would really like to get the firefly working instead since my mt-daap is running anyways.
