After a couple of painful hours I finally managed to upgrade this forum to version 3.1.10 of phpBB. Everything seems to work fine but don't hesitate should you experience problems.
Note that I will upgrade to 3.2.0 once style and extensions will be upgraded.

Is there a way to enable HTTPS for it too? Obtaining a cert shouldn't be an issue with letsencrypt, but I guess it depends whether the hoster allows you to enable that yourself or forces you to buy an upgrade.

One thing: "Show unread posts" is gone, can you restore it?
