Hi.
Some days ago i noticed samba was fast like never before, like 10mb/s dl and 6-7 mb/s ul over LAN cable.
If i install a 5ghz wificard in my laptop, will i see the same speeds over wifi?
What i dont get is that i can download files from the internet through bubba2 at 10Mbyte/s when my card is 54Mb/s = 6,75Mbyte/s, or am i wrong?
Ty.

Bit or Byte? That's the question. How transfer rates are displayed can be confusing sometimes and the only real way to tell is count how many seconds is required to retrieve the complete file.
You should realize that network speeds mentioned are maximum speeds, theoretical even. There are several factors that limit this speed as you experience it, but most important is that the full capacity of the wire is never used for you exclusively, even if it is a straight connection between two computers. Wireless even has more issues that can reduce actual speed and by investigating network properties you may in fact find that the maximum speed itself is often reduced; walls, ceilings and of course distance will be of influence.
