Hi!
I am trying to get my bubba to relay emails through gmail's smtp server.
I try to do this through the web admin -> Mail -> Server settings, and changing the Outgoing email server.
It seems that what happens is what's described in this how to:
http://ubuntulinux.co.in/blog/ubuntu/se ... tp-server/
But I can't manage to get it to work.
Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Using google's smtp server
Thanks!
I followed that guide, but the result is not what I wanted
It results in an e-mail that is sent from my gmail address.
I want it to be like this:
Sender: My bubba user (myname@mydomain.org)
What happens is: My bubba user (mygmailuser@gmail.com)
And if I hit reply on the e-mail it goes to the gmail address, not myname@mydomain.org.
Am I making sense?

Re: Using google's smtp server
IIRC, I think that is a "feature" of Google's SMTP server and there's nothing you can do about it.
Re: Using google's smtp server
That is correct, unfortunately.

Re: Using google's smtp server
I suppose I should ask why you want to use Google's smtp server? I assume your ISP doesn't have one and/or blocks port 25.
Re: Using google's smtp server
The reason is my server was hacked several years ago and was used for spam e-mail. Since then I'm a bit afraid of having my own smtp server running. Might need to let go of that fear

Re: Using google's smtp server
Well there are other options beside Google. Smtp.com for example.
