Hi all,
I don't know how I did it, but I can't login to the admin account.
I just opened the box containing Bubba just over an hour ago.
Changing the admin password was the first thing I did. I'm not going to type the password here, but there was a $ in it. Could that be the problem?
I did create another account which works fine. But I need the admin
privileges of course. I could be some kid trying to ssh into another person's Bubba (who did not change the admin pwd), so if you're a moderator and need more info to prove who I am, just let me know. I already sent an email to Excito on this.
Please help!

Lost admin password
I received an email from support today.
Seems that it is a bug. It is possible to include
other characters than A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and _ when changing
the admin password, but I recommend that you don't
( as is adviced when you add another user).
Chances are you can't login.
So...Always add a user ! You can always do a su and change
the admin password later.
Cheers.

Exactly, yodanski found a bug for us, the change password function accepts the '$' sign, but won't let you log on with it. We'll solve it asap, but until then, don't try to add '$' to your user names or passwords. Also as yodanski says, it's always good to have a user with shell access available. If nothing else, in case you forget your admin password.

Whats scary is that your local DNS server just lets random machine register themselves (which I do not think bubba does). My gues is that you're confusing DNS with microsofts horrible NMB-master-naming thing (i forgot the name). Either register Bubba properly in your dns server or just login to the IP adres.
This, btw, has absolutely *nothing* to do with the SSH protocol
