Permission

Post by michael_c »

Hello,

I have a B2 since some time already, but "suddenly" it seems the permission of "Public Share" have change, while I did not change them myself...

When I use the Web interface to change the permissions to /home/storage/ I receive an error message or no messages but in both cases the permissions are not changed.

How could I fix that? (I am using a Mac and I am not a Linux expert ;-)

Thanks in advance

Hi Michael,

Please start by giving us some details.
How have the permissions changed?
What error message do you get?
Did you only try to change the permissions via the web interface, or did you try chmod as well?

Best regards,

Hi,

I don't know how the permission have changed....I happened "suddenly"...

When I try to change the permissions from the web interface I get either a error message:Failed to change permission for following files and folders: /home/storage/music

or I have a pop-up window to change permissions...but after I click "change permission" in order to perform the change....nothing is changed.

About CHMOD....I don't know how to do it...I am not a unix expert. Can you help (I am a Mac user...)

Thanks in advance

Hi again,

So the permissions are screwed for the folder /home/storage/music, or is it all the subfolders as well?

When the pop-up appears, what are the current permissions listed as for "Owner", "Bubba User", and "Not logged in", respectively?
