Slow wordpress on my bubba

Post by jamerson »

Hi!

I suppose there are quite a few of you running wordpress on bubba.
I installed it and it runs verrrrry slow.
I have no idea why.
Any of you running it have any tips and tricks?

www.protalen.se is my wordpress site (never mind the styling and content).
www.lola.nu is another site on my bubba.

Notice the difference in speed.

Anyone with any ideas?

Wordpress is slower on my Bubba, especially the 'Edit and Admin' pages, but as only I use these I can survive. However opening up my Wordpress page to view takes only 3 seconds compaired to yours which takes around 10 seconds from where I am.

I think this is more due to the content in the page, alot of those photos you have on there are 150K+ In all the page is more than 1MB to download. I think this may be what is causing your problems !

Hmmm.
Do you see the photos on my site?
I only get links to them. Do they actually load anyway?

The resizing doesn't work. that's why they are so big. thing is that even if I remove them the site is as slow.

No, I don't get the pictures shown, I was thinking that wordpress is analysing the page, attempting to re-size and show the pages and then just giving up and displaying the page without.

Actually your 'About' page seems slower then mine, even though they contain the same info. I did follow Tor's tuning tweaks for MySQL which might have made some improvements. Also currently I don't have any torrents running and switched off mt-daap and also Telnet and FTP.

Saying that, I do get a good speed from my Bredbandsbloaget connection :D

Might be!

That would mean that if I get the resizing to work my blog would be snappy again...

Might be there that I should start.

I use this:
http://www.andymoore.info/wordpress-mobile-plugin/

And phpinfo() says that GD is up and running.

Anyone who has experience with this.
All I want is to have the images in the posts, and not as links...
