Hi,
I have just started work on one of these Bubba Two units for a client.
They have had it running as a simple NAS drive with no special features, but now want it to be their server for handling email and data.
The first task for me was to update the unit, so I logged in and updated the unit. It updated and I was using it fine, I then powered the unit down, moved it to my own network for further testing. I booted it up at my network, it got its own IP of 192.168.1.79 and I logged onto the interface, everything works except the Administration page, which of course is what I want. All I get now is a 404 Page NOt Found when clicking on the link?
Any idea's what has happened or how I get it back working?
I'm new to Bubba Two's so any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks, Jovisuk

Re: 404 Page Not Found
hi,
unplug the bubba from the wan and connect to the bubba using a client (laptop) directly to the (ethernet) lan port. access at http://bubba/admin/index.php/login in the browser. i think that will give you the oem interface where you can log into the unit as admin.
or ssh to the bubba using an account that is already setup (perhaps your clients) and then su to root. from there there you can do regular root stuff.
at that point you will the regular root. the "admin" user is less than root but can configure the unit using the gui interface.
also, i would suggest reviewing the bubba manuals they are not to bad.. http://www.excito.com/bubba/support/download.html
there is also a "restore" usb drive that will restore the bubba to the oem state... http://www.excito.com/bubba/buy/shop.html

Hi Zander,
Thanks, the restore USB hub did the trick.
What is the safest way to update on the software on the unit as my trouble started last time when I simply clicked to do a software update?
I'm running version 2.0 at the moment, what is the latest?
Cheers,

hi,
mine is 2.0.4. the best way to update is to use the gui.
i had to make a slight change to my etc/apt/sources.list file there is a copy of its contents here http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2489#p11811
that whole thread outlines some problems i had with the gui update but except for a waring at the beginning of the the process it seems to work okay now.
what i have done in that thread is the result of following advice of excito support.
keep up the good work.
