Problem to reinstall bubba|Two

Post by niklaswe »

Hello,

I trying to reinstall my bubba-server after some problem with it, I follow the instruction from the manual,

1. I format my usbstick with FAT32 and i got an partition table,
2. I unzip the http://update.excito.net/install/latest ... ll-2.0.zip
on the usbstick so i have the directory "install" in the ROOT of the usbstick.

3. I pull out power supply from the bubba 2 and put the usbstick in the usb-connector.
and hold in the power button so the led starting to blink, and the led on usbstick start blink.. after a while the led on the bubba 2 starts to blink faster, and to the last it stop blink..

4. after the "reinstall" my two nic doesn't have any activity and dont broadcast for dhcp,
but im not sure if the server was installed succefull..

5. any ide what i will do so i can use my bubba again?

Best Regards

Niklas

Hi,

Have you managed to solve this issue? I am having the same problem.

I have done exactly the same steps as you describe, basically the exact same thing as noted in the manual.
I have put the "install" folder in the root of my USB memorystick. In the root I have also placed the "u-boot.bin" file found on the SW download share.

When I startup my Bubba in recovery mode, holding the PWR-button pressed while inserting the power-cable the led changes to ~4Hz flashing for a brief moment then it reverts back to a more slow pace. If I then release the PWR-button my Bubba powers down shortly after.

I am not entirely sure how to verify that my USB memorystick has a partition table, but according to "Disk utility" on my Mac it says that I have a partition schema (MBR in contrast to e.g. GUID-partition table). Not sure this is the same?

Best regards

This sounds like the problem I had. I got another USB stick, formatted it and copied the installation files to it.

Might be worth a try if you have some usb sticks lying around.
