Hi, I've been reading through the forums and I need some advice as I can't see answer to my question and having changed a number of things the problem never gets fixed... just a bit different. So, I have one Bubba2 and I have four PCs, two are windows, two are Linux. I have created a subdirectory in storage called common and I want all four PCs to have read/write access to all files. All I ever end up with as owner read/write and users read.
I've ended up with:
Linux1 uses fstab mount:
192.168.1.3:/home/storage/common /common nfs auto,timeo=14,intr,_netdev 0 0
Linux2 uses fstab mount:
192.168.1.3:/home/storage/common /common nfs auto,timeo=14,intr,_netdev 0 0
The windows machines have network drive mapped.
Each of my four machines has a different userid and I want to be able to edit any file in common on the Bubba2 from any machine so I think if only I could set all the files to allow write for the group my problem would be solved. Trouble is it only seems to work one file at a time which for several thousand files is a challenge ... one at a time.
Any suggestions for solution would be greatly appreciated. regards, robin
