Connection problem using Ubuntu

Post by krispijn »

I've upgraded to the new version of Bubba Two software, and now I can't connect to my bubba 2 server anymore. I can connect through the webinterface, but I can't connect through my 'explorer' under Ubuntu.
When I try to connect to the Excito server it shows up as a windows network and gives the error 'can't mount location'. I'm not that tech savvy, so I hope you can help me out :-)

Hi krispijn,

By 'explorer' you mean the graphical file manager in ubuntu? I assume that this worked properly previously?

Exactly how do you proceed when connecting? Ie what happens when you enter smb://bubba/home in the location field in the file manager? Can you browse to Bubba via the network view in the file manager?

If you can, could you try executing

Code: Select all

smbclient //bubba/storage -U guest
in a terminal on your Ubuntu machine and if asked for a password just press enter and then give us the output from that.

Hi Tor,

Thanks for your response. Indeed by 'explorer' I mean the graphical file manager of Ubuntu. And yes it worked fine before.

My output at the command line:

Code: Select all

smbclient //bubba/storage -U guest
timeout connecting to 67.63.50.51:139
Connection to bubba failed (Error NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED)
And the problem seems solved, some strange glitch in 2 of my ethernet cables. Just plugged in a third one and now I have access to my Bubba through the graphical file manager again... Although with the current one I lost the connection though the webinterface? I think I'm going to spend some euros on a decent one this weekend...

Kind regards,
Krispijn
