Measure total internet monthly traffic on Bubba2 ... How?

Post by Strider »

Hi,

I have a problem that can be common to many users.
My ADSL account has a data limit cap.
In my case it is 250GB/Month.

To avoid going trough the roof with this limit, as prices above that level go astronomic, how can I set up a command line program to measure:
total monthly internet traffic.

Or better yet, total internet (incoming/outgoing from Bubba2) traffic (not lan) from beginning of the month until command execution.

Linux is very proficient in networking tools, there are literally hundreds of small software to do the job. I have seen vnStat for this task:

But I would like to know if someone with the same problem as I do have a solution for this.

I ask for this help because Excito is _"The"_ Peer to Peer "Weapon" of choice out there in the market.
Excito team is no doubt to congratulate for this.
But in my case this means the 250GB/Month are all on Excito eth port ... so I need to know and control before I receive another bill like this month ..

Regards
