Finally got it working. Router/firewall with static addresses in my home LAN, internet connection through planet.nl (nowadays kpn.nl) using an Alcatel Speedtouch ADSL modem over pptp/ppp, and only using the provider's nameservers. I had to completely reinstall the system several times using a stick; especially configuring the firewall was tricky, I locked myself out several times. Another problem was the cable supplied with the bubba2. I almost pulled my hair out because it "sometimes" worked and "sometimes" did not. Using another cable helped.
But (sigh of relief) it works now. I kept notes and may post a detailed HOWTO on my website if there is any interest.
Now it is just a matter of getting the mail and the website working. And the little matter of getting existing data from my existing gateway through nfs.
Trouble is, I don't like having to learn a completely new mail system again. When I try to install exim4, with which I am a bit familiar, I am told that bubba2's "front-end" and "back-end" will be removed. This apparently means that the configuration system via http won't work anymore. I don't particularly mind that (it seems the configuration system is only needed at the very beginning), but are there any other disadvantages of doing this?
