I thought everything was fine a little bit to early... As I wrote in a recent post I got my eSATA drive working, but here's my new problem:
The eSATA drive is not availible if attached during boot. Moreover I can't get it to run on the same eSATA port. Switching port is just fine.
How to reproduce:
1. Power off Bubba|Two
2. Connect an external eSATA drive to eSATA port 1.
3. Power on drive and Bubba and wait for boot sequence to complete.
4. No drive found.
5. Disconnect drive and reconnect to eSATA port 2.
6. Drive found!
7. Disconnect drive and reconnect to eSATA port 1.
8. No drive found. Nothing happens in /var/log/messages
The only clue I can find is the following message in /var/log/messages during boot
bubba kernel: ata4: reset failed (errno=-19), retrying in 10 secs
bubba kernel: ata4: reset failed (errno=-19), retrying in 10 secs
bubba kernel: ata4: reset failed (errno=-19), retrying in 35 secs
I thought of moving the /home folder to the external drive, but this is a major blocker for that project.
