I have some problem with mc's interface.

I think you have encoding mismatched.. ie Your terminal is set to Iso-hungarian and bubba is set to UTF-8 ( i think) .. or oposite. Another option is wrong font set on your console.. I had similar problem with polish encoding and i managed to fix it.

Please, check this settings on gnome terminal and when connected to bubba
Execute following command

Code: Select all

set |grep LANG
Please check gnome terminal setting in menu Terminal->Encoding
