Dear all,
I'm having a strange problem with my Bubba. I have B2 as a server with a static IP on my network. From my laptop, I can ssh it, see my stuff, ftp, etc... However I cannot connect with it throught http://bubba.local (I'm on a Mac). From my Mac I can see Bubba in the Finder (that is, connecting with samba), but there are errors if I try to copy anything or even in the size of the files, compared to what I see with ssh. If I log in B2 and I try to ping any other machine, both outside/inside my network I get:
ivan@bubba:~$ ping 198.168.1.35
connect: Network is unreachable
However I can download torrents... Does someone have a clue on what's going on? This seems to happens at some point, I mean if I reboot the thing may work or not, but after a couple of days it just stops working.
Thanks in advance,
Ivan

Hi
Can you connect to Bubba, if you write Bubba's IP address on web browser instead of http://bubba.local ?

Hi,
Yes, I can connect using the IP instead of the bubba.local. Any clue on how to fix it?
Thanks,
Ivan

Sorry I don't know what is causing it. I have encountered the same phenomenum myself.
I have a hunch that it has something to do with Bubba having a static IP address.
If you set Bubba using DHCP to get an IP address to itself, I think then the http://bubba address works.
I don't have a chance to test this thing right now, but if you do, please let me know if it works.

If you set at static IP on bubba, it will not (can not) report its name to the router that is acting as dns-server (translate names to IP-adresses).
Either you have to configure your router to know the name of bubba (which I think is not possible in most "home" routers) or set bubba to use dhcp, in which case bubba will report its name to your router.
