halt-button

Post by lasse »

hi,

first, I am very happy with the bubba. nice to play with this little server.

I have a question about the button used to halt the system. for this the button must be pressed 5 sec.

is there a way tu use the event "button pressed for 1 sec." for a bash-script?

I use bubba for media-server.
to update the server, I want to plug only an usb-device on and after pushing the button for 1sec. the server should copy all media to the local disk.

thanks for hints and ideas

Maybe you don't even need the button press. IIRC it is possible to set things up so that usb media is automatically recognized and a script to copy is started.
I don't remember details now.. I'll search tomorrow!

What a good idea to use that button! I'm very interested too in any solution to do that.

That is a really good idea. Even better with a "copy" button than an automatic transfer, freedom of choise is important.

We'll give it some thought. Thanks!
