Hi,

My Easyfind seems to work now. I can reach the web interface externally using the Easyfind name, but I can't SSH to Bubba from outside using the Easyfind name. I have enabled SSH from WAN and have managed to SSH in by using the raw IP address.

Thanks

The Easyfind service is something that we provide free of charge as a way to locate your Bubba from the internet.
This function only works with http and https, in other words only for web-protocols.

In order for it to work with any protocol, such as ssh, a true dns entry would be needed.

network timeout with easyshare...

Post by zander »

hi,

i am having the network timeout when i try to access my bubba2 using easyshare from outside (@$tarbuck$ to be exact using t-mobile hot-spot service).

i just setup my bubba today and it seems that tor has articulated it takes a few days for the easyshare function to start working. should i wait or worry that it is something else.

all i did was enable easyshare, submit my easyshare name and click the update button. it worked from home when i entered fretwell.bubbaserver.com. but now it is timing out at $tarbuck$.

please advise.

Hi,

fretwell.bubbaserver.com resolved to an IP, but there is nothing answering on that IP.
Can you check that the IP displayed in the location bar so that it corresponds to your external ip?

Also, are you allowing access to WWW on WAN (network->firewall)?
Or if you are using Bubba|Two in "server mode" ie behind anohter firewall/router, you need to make sure that port 80 is forwarded to your Bubba.

okay that sounds like what i was observing too.

i have enabled all the firewall Integrated Bubba Services on the network now. www was enabled from wan before.

the lan is set to use static ip address. should it be set to dhcp because the wan uses dhcp? there is no other firewall between bubba2 and the cable modem.

it seems to be working now. it resolves to the ip address when i type fretwell.bubbaserver.com instead of http://bubba like a local login. but i need to check it from someplace besides home.

but looks like it work now.

thank you for helping.

Then there really should be no reason for it not to work.

Can you check that the ip-adress you get in your browser when typing "youreasyfindname.bubbaserver.com" corresponds to the IP shown in the WAN section of your Bubba?

And if it is working from your own network, can it be blocked by your isp?

the ip address is the same. i tried it from starbucks tonight and while i was able to load the bubba2 page index this time i was not able to login.

i don't know if my isp is blocking the feature if i can load the page in the field; but they might be.

if i can load the page it seems i should be able to use my server in the field too. is this correct?

thank you,

Hi,

If you can access the login-page it should work fine for you anywhere.

I had the same problem: EasyFind didn't work out of the box. Deleted the easyfind.conf file and reenabled it. It seems to work. Well, at least I don't get an error message and an IP-address. Now I have to check if it is accessible from outside.
