no internet through Bubba2

Post by billdbr »

Yesterday I recieved my Bubba2.

I want to connect my homenetwork through Bubba2 to the internet as in scenario 4.
The wireless acces point is the netgear wgr613v7.
As i'm typing now the wan port of the netgear is connected to my Scientific Atlanta model EPC 2203 -NS
Cable modem. All is working fine.

Now connect my pc to the lan port of the Bubba2 and the wan port of the Bubba2 to my modem.
I get no connection to the intenet.

I edited the file /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf and removed "interface.mtu" and rebooted.

My bubba's name is zefod

I learnd the following:

To get access to the internet my ISP (athome.nl ) wants the mac-address
of a pc behind the router. My router configuration has the option "clone mac-address" . In don't get access to the internet unless this option is used.
The configuration of the Bubba2 don't have that option.
Anyone know how to get the mac-address of my pc to the wan port of the Bubba? (the configuration file where I can change this value)

Is it possible for you to provide your ISP with bubbas mac-address?

run "/sbin/ifconfig" to see your mac-address, WAN port is eth0.

Else look at this post:

Thank you very much or answer.
I mailed my ISP.
When they will not help I will use ifconfig.

Problem solved!

I started from scratch:

Configured the bubba
rebooted my modem
rebooted the bubba
rebooted the pc
All is working fine now.

( I really dont know what I did wrong the first time)
