I initiated a "reboot" from the commandline but after that b2 never returned.
Blue led kept on blinking, had to pull the power (on/off button didn't respond). Starting B2 with button pushed and power on, he starts to blink, released the button but B2 keeps on blinking, haven't got a clue what it's doing.
What is the procedure to recover B2 without loosing data?

Starting the Bubba is just putting power to it.
If you DID format the Bubba, look elsewhere in this forum for exact details on how to prepare a repare USB stick.
