Internet unavailable using scenario 4
Internet unavailable using scenario 4
I setup my new bubba two in scenario 4.
I can connect to the http://bubba/admin to update settings etc however I am unable to get to external sites.
Also, I can't see my wireless routers home page anymore. I switched off DHCP on the wireless router and it is on on the bubba.
If I ssh on to the bubba two I can ping external sites...
Any ideas where I start?

this is the same as my problem - I've not found any answer

A friend also suffers from this, so it seems something that Excito need to address with some priority.
My friend and I both connect to the internet via a cable modem (different ones). Two other friends also have a bubba and do not have the problem, they both have ADSL modems. This should not be a factor, but who knows?

Cable modem...
Hmm - I am also using a cable modem... and there is no reply to your last post from last week. That is a bit of a worry.
I also sent the same info to the support mail. Did you try that?
Is there a work around for this issue that you have found yet?

Sorry for not replying, lots to do, little time :/
It sounds like a routing problem, in that you computer doesn't know that anything that isn't explicit defined, should be routed through the BubbaTwo.
First, could you post the output of "ipconfig /all"?
The probable reason that you can't access the wlan web page is that it is listening on 192.168.0.1 or similar; make sure it's on the same network as the BubbaTwo is configured for.
Edit: remove the advice, as it would result in that streaming services wouldn't function as it should.

Hi Carl
Please see output in previous post.
I tried your other config - now deleted suggestion. It didn't seem to help.
I have forced the lan ip address to 192.168.10.10 the behaviour seems the same. Still no external web. Now I can see the router home page again
Thanks for your help

It works when behind a router.
I've found that my bubba does now work when it is behind a router, but not when it is directly connected to my internet cable modem. In my initial tests it didn't work in that configuration as reported in the other thread, but suddenly it started working and I don't know that I changed anything that could have caused it to start working.
Thus my situation is now:
cable modem <-> PC
works
CM <-> (WAN) bubba (LAN) <-> PC
doesn't work
CM <-> Dlink 624+ router <-> (WAN) bubba (LAN) <-> PC
works
One of the two friends who do have it working has a router built into their ADSL modem. The other is on holiday, so I can't ask him.

Which version of the software are you using?
I you have not updated, please do so (when you have your dlink between bubba and internet) and then try the internet<->bubba<->PC setup again.
Please read the announcement prior to upgrade:
http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?t=1217 special care to note nbr 2.
Also reboot bubba after the upgrade.

I'm fully up-to-date with SW updates: 1.0.8-1, plus 1 update since then. update now says "0 packages to update."
You've seen my output of route -n in the other thread (about silicon bug)
/etc/resolv.conf contains:
search <my IP provider's domain>
nameserver <my IP provider's DNS server 1>
nameserver <my IP provider's DNS server 2>
DNS lookup works OK as does ping.

Sorry posted the ifconfig output from the bubba last time... here is the output from my laptop.
On the lan page of the bubba 192.168.10.65 is shown as the only dhcp lease at the moment.

regarding the route and resolve info - I wasn't sure if you wanted the bubba or pc data so here are both...
