admin password

Hi All,

I lost my admin password.
I became root and set the password like this:
passwd admin

I can now become admin with su, and the new password works, but I can still not log in using the web interface.

How does the authentication process work in the web interface for the admin user? I found nothing in auth.log after the failed attempts...

Do you have any special characters in the password?
Have you tried setting the password back to "admin"?
