I working from a laptop with Linux on it. And OK, I am newbee.
According to the Bubba manual you should use the NMBLOOKUP command to get the Budda's IP address returned to you.
I want to "mount" the Bubba on this laptop with NFS.
My problem is that from what I can find out NMBLOOKUP is a samba command and samba isn't installed on my laptop.
Is there an alternative to NMBLOOKUP?

Finding the Bubba's IP Address from linux
Hi there,
If you haven't got a clue what your bubba's IP address is, I suggest you look at the web interface of your router, which will tell you what IP has been assigned to the bubba.
You can mount your bubba shares via NFS, but you have to make sure the name resolution works first, unless you want to keep typing in IP numbers.
On howto install NFS, see this thread:

I believe the most reliable way is
Code: Select all
/sbin/ifconfig
