How to strem to XBOX360?
How to strem to XBOX360?
Hi,
I have received my Bubba today, and copied all my music files to it. Now I want to stream the music to my XBOX360, but I have no clue how to do that.
Have anybody tried it?
Thanks
Jakob
Ps. I know this should probably be posted on a XBOX-forum...

estorino,
This may be a mistake from our side. I will remove the note saying that we are XBOX 360 capable from the users manual for now. After reading up on XBOX360, the UPnP support isn't complete, apparently Microsoft has implemented their own flavour...
Anyways, if anyone get's it to work, please let us know.

Hi,
ushare seems to have added xbox-360 support, could be interesting to check out. And it sure should be possible to build it for bubba. I have done it in the past.

Re: How to strem to XBOX360?
This is incredibly disappointing! This device was advertised as with support for xbox360, and when that is the case i expect it to work out of the box! Xbox 360 support was the MAIN reason i purchased this device!
Is this seriously the case? Do i have to hack this to get it working?

Re: How to strem to XBOX360?
Hi everybody,
any news on how to stream my B2-music (other media) to the xbox360?
Here are some messages that come up on the xbox-network screens:
On the xbox side the machine tells me that it only connects to a "Windows Media Center- PC".
Finally it provides me with a setup key that I am supposed to use with the Media Center PC for "security reasons".
The next step is to go to http://www.xbox.com/pcsetup to complete the setup.
There it tells me, that sharing media via Windows Media Player or Zune is possible, too (link winxp).
From there on it says:
Zune
Step 1: Download the Zune software .
Step 2: Launch Zune.
· On your Windows XP-based PC, launch Zune.
Step 3: Turn on media sharing.
* Click Settings, Software, Sharing.
* Select Enable media sharing with Xbox 360 .
* If desired, provide a name for your collection. This name appears in the media source list on your console.
* Select the media types you want to stream to your Xbox 360 console.
* Choose whether you want to share with all of the Xbox 360 consoles on your network, or just specific ones.
* If you chose to share only with specific consoles, select the consoles you want to share to.
* Click OK .
Step 4: Configure your Xbox 360 console.
* In the Media area of the Xbox Dashboard, select Music, Pictures , or Videos .
* Select your PC. The PCs on your network are listed by name.
Tip: if a media source is already selected, press X to select a different media source.
* Select an item to play it.
Windows Media Player 11
Step 1: Download Windows Media Player Software.
Step 2: Launch Windows Media Player.
* On your Windows XP-based PC, launch Windows Media Player.
Step 3: Turn on media sharing.
* Click the arrow below the Library tab, and then click Media Sharing .
* In the Media Sharing dialog box, select the Share my media to check box.
* In the list of devices below the Share my media to check box, select your Xbox 360 console.
* Click Allow .
* Click OK .
Step 4: Configure your Xbox 360 console.
* In the Media area of the Xbox Dashboard, select Music, Pictures , or Videos .
* Select your PC. The PCs on your network are listed by name.
* Tip: if a media source is already selected, press X to select a different media source.
* Select an item to play it.
I hope that there is some hint in this to get streaming from B2 working...

Hi Hans & DrTeit,
You are aware that this is a Bubba|Server (B1) thread? And you are unlikely to get any answers regarding B2 or B3 here.
But to answer your question regarding xbox-360. The recomended solution for now is to install minidlna which is available from our repos.
