I have problem with streaming of .avi movies from BUBBA to PS3 I read something that the PS3 doesn't support .avi but I also read something about transcoding the .avi in bubba and then stream it over.
The problem is that I have no idée about how to get this up and running.
Anybody how can help me?

Regarding transcoding. Unfortunately you will not get transcoding to work on bubba. Its a much to CPU intensive task to do with this hardware.

Getting video to the PS3
I've been trying like mad to get videos to show up on the PS3 from my BUBBA.
So far I havenät been able to, sad to say.
I can get MediaTomb to show the media on the PS3 but no matter which media type I use the PS3 simply says "Unsupported format" och if it tries to play the file it stops after a little while and says that there is "error in the data".
Since i know the PS3 only suppoorts MPEG4 H.264 I have encoded films using a variety of tools HandBrake, Nero Recode etc. And it does not work...
I thkn I read somewhere that the PS3 can not play stream media off the MediaTomb server? Can anyone confirm this?
If so the solution is to simply download the files onto the PS3.... but it would be nice to know if this really is the case?
I am also looking for good tips & hints on how to best get media onto the PS3....

Regarding video streaming on PS3,
This will be a lot easier when we get an upgrade of the mediatomb package. (There has been an upstream bug that have stopped this upgrade.)
That said, PS3 videostreming should be possible even with our current release of MT.
Possible problems can be.
Wrong firmware version on your PS3, at least one of the released firmware versions are known for not working with MT. I think the latest version should be good though.
You will most likely have to modify our config of MT found in /etc/mediatomb/config.xml. In the server section you have to add the entry
and restart the upnp-server.
