Using Samba on bubba, many but not all of my shared files and folders are suddenly invisible to Windows. The problem affects many directories but not all files in any particular directory. The files aren't hidden as far as Windows knows the term and Explorer is set to show all hidden files/folders anyway.
The files are still there - bubba itself can see them and copy them - but those affected don't show up in Windows explorer or explorer views of other Windows applications.
The problem is the same on my two Windows XP machines so it would appear the problem is with bubba.
However, both Windows machines can open the files when the directory and filename of the file is known.
This is bizarre!
Furthermore, the files are visible in bubba's browser interface.
I keep bubba fully up-to-date with debian updates.
Any suggestions?
