howto restart via ssh

Post by LudwigVan »

Hi,

however my home network went nuts and my internet modem router (ADSL) hung up seriously. However I solved this problem. But after that I can not reach bubba anymore via the webinterface using b2.local. Smb works so, I can get hold of my files and I can log in via ssh.

For a starter I would like to restart bubba, but not using the hard reset by turning it of.

Question is: How can I restart bubba via ssh, to check if the web interface will be reachable again.

This is the error I get by trying to reach bubba:
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Apache/2.2.16 (Debian) Server at "URL" Port 80
Thx
Ludwig

I normally just run the command "reboot", does the trick. I think you need to be root.

so your Bubba works

So your DNS does not. Can you reach the web interface by typing the IP address of the bubba instead of b2.local? If that works, than the problem is in the resolver. In your case the resolver seems to be your misbehaving router. If so, then rebooting the B2 may not yield the improvement you aim for.

So what does the apache server error log say?

(Try `tail -n 100 /var/log/apache2/error.log`)

@ubi

I also think it is the resolver. I'll test in the evening. But unless I can not see the configuration of bubba it will be tricky to set the router right.

Thx and keep you posted.

@ubi

so typing the IP of b2 did not work so I did a reboot via ssh. B2 is back again, so it was not the resolver.

Hell knows.However I will run the update to close all windows and doors.

Thx.
