I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem, since it's a clean install after a new HDD.
Windows 8 Mediaplayer tags all .wav files with an artist name of "RIFFINFO_IART" and song name of "RIFFINFO_INAME". I guess it's a Windows 8 bug... So... I now have some 2000 .wav files in my B3 with these incorrect artist and song names I want to get rid of.
Deleting the files do not clean the cache, so the files still appear in all DLNA media players, although the files are not there anymore.
I tried to rebuild the minidlna database with:
minidlna -f /home/$USER/.minidlna/minidlna.conf -R
but this finally results in:
minidlna.c: 746: warn: Failed to clean old file cache.
and:
minidlna.c: 783: error: Usage: ...
I wonder what I'm doing wrong?

Minidlna does not clean old file cache.
Re: Minidlna does not clean old file cache.
No I havn't!
Yes it works now!
Thanks!
Still... Shouldn't cleaning the cache be automatic somehow???
I don't want to do this everytime I delete a song or album!

Windows is modifying files on your DLNA server? Apart from the fact it shouldnt be, how is it doing it? I thought DLNA was a read only protocol.
Re: Minidlna does not clean old file cache.
The files were copied by a Windows 8 computer and then transfered to the B3.
I then noticed it was all wrong, when played by the home entertainment system...

Still, that's pretty shitty behaviour.
Re: Minidlna does not clean old file cache.
Yeah... well... Windows 7 at least handles the album art correctly, but the other info will pass as in Win 8 after COPYING the files.
I wonder if there is a program in Linux that can find and merge the album art, song names and other info, since I don't have an XP computer at the moment here...
???
Oh yes... This is for wav files! mp3 is no problem...
