(Resolved) Fetchmail (log message incomplete)

Post by jovisuk »

Hello Chaps.

It's been a long time since I've been here! My B3 has been running fine with no issues, and little need for interference for pretty much 2 years, other than general maintenance.

Anyway, this week I hit an issue and I think it was due to the recent vulnerability that I've seen here (MySQL, PHP and Apache all started failing and causing errors). Anyway, I attempted an inline update of the software from the web interface and this got halfway through and failed. So I rebooted and logged in through the shell interface and updated and also removed all un-needed packages.

Everything began working again as expected, however, I (foolishly) forgot to turn off AFP through the web interface as previously it had caused me issues with large log files. So I came into the office, and found nothing working again and eventually realised it was this. So after removal of the huge log files, I disabled AFP and rebooted, hoping all would be resolved. Except it hasn't.

I am now getting fetchmail errors (email address and mailserver have obviously been edited):

Code: Select all

Nov 8 16:01:02 main-bubba fetchmail[1145]: reading message emailaddress@mailserver:1 of 1 (92802 octets) (log message incomplete)

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried turning off and on again the send/receive under Services in the web interface but no joy.

Thanks in advance!

Not really solved, but resolved I guess as far as it's not an issue any more, I ended up using my secondary backup B3 unit. Just made sure I had copied data over and swapped out the devices.

I am going to wipe and rebuild the problem unit, I had full backups of everything so just swapped the units over. Not sure what happened but I couldn't afford to spend any more time worrying about it.
