[SOLVED] Log on in Win7

Each time I switch on my laptop in my home network I must again log on with user name and password to access B3. I can see it on the network as other connected devices, but after i turn off my laptop and switch on again I have to login again. I have tested B3 in my work and there it works perfect and without this repeated log ons annoy.

Can you tell me what can cause this problem? In both networks B3 is connected to LAN socket, router and DHCP. Even when i mark remember login information ( In Win 7 ), by next restart it asks for log on info again. Workgroup is the same to save settings when i take my work NTB home.

this is probably a silly question, but are the username and password for your laptop *both exactly* the same as for the b3?

On my work laptop is my login: ( using example )

On my home laptop is my login: ( using example )

On my B3 is my user login: ( using example )
u: efg
p: ijk

That means username for B3 and home laptop is the same but password is different.

When entering credentials, try to use "<b3 name>\<username>" (e.g. b3\efg) instead.

That may sometimes work, but generally windows tries to log into a remote machine using the username and password that was used to log onto the client pc (so using password efr). This is especially prone if the username is identical. The log files of the samba server should tell you if the client logs in with the wrong password. If that is indeed the case, then syncing the passwords between the B3 and your client may do the trick. At the very least it is an easy thing to try

Well it works for me - Windows 7 VM with no password set connecting to my B3 using the same user name but with a password.

I created new user in B3 changed my user name and also password to that new and only first time need my Win7 to ask...than no problem. But for my linux STB was that no problem....

Yes in meaning of annoying login popups yes.
