troubles updating Bubba Two

Post by epvisser »

I haven't used my Bubba Two for a while. I have tried to update the software using the web-ui. This results in the following message: Failures found in package (dpkg) database, unable to continue with upgrade

The system data are:
bubba-frontend 2.0.0.9
bubba-backend 2.0.0.11
bubba-album 2.0.0.4
filetransferdaemon 0.50.20
squeezecenter 7.5.4.dfsg1-2

After this I tried with SSH login what the effect was of apt-get udate:
This results in an error messages:
Failed to fetch ...packages.gz .. not found (I can't copy the exact text, because it looks too much like spam)
Do you have any idea what's wrong?

Kind regards,
Ernst

Possibly, you're on such an old version that the repositories have been moved. You would need to edit /etc/apt/sources.list. There's a couple of posts about it around here. That said, you can't update directly to the absolute newest version, it requires a fresh installation so you may as well look into that (plenty of posts about that too).

Thanks.
Replacing "ftp.se" by "archive" in the line referring to the Debian ftp site in sources.list made it possible to install (old) packages manually.
To make the update possibility in the web-ui work again I installed new software using the re-install wiki on this forum. I choose not to delete my user data by setting FORMAT=0 and PARTITION=0 in the config file.
My Bubba Two is now running on 2.5.1.2
