Hi,
as we know, there is no perfect way yet to deal with local characters with the current debian release on bubba, if it will be acccess with different tools (ssh, smb, browser) and different OS.
Now that I read, we *might* be close to a debian etch release. where we could switch fully to UTF I have the following question:
Can a filesystem successfully be convert filenames from one coding into another? Is there any tool? I fear uploading a lot of stuff and having no way to convert might be a real pain....
regards dsp76
by the way: any comments on current outlook for debian etch on bubba?

oh just realize, that 0.50.1 fixed the browserproblem showing local characters, even without manually switching character encoding of the browser...

Character encodings - codepages - Debian Etch
Hi dsp76,
Regarding etch, we are working hard on it and will hopefully be able to do a release "shortly". We will also try to get UTF codepage support.
