Would it be risky to add Debian Backports to sources.list?

I want to use Darktable by VNC from B3, I didn't get it to work on Mac.

This depends on what you would do with it after adding it to the list. :) It does not affect the web updater (it doesn't use the standard sources.list), so as long as you know what you are doing on the command line, you are safe.
