B3 software update

Post by ZoombyWoof »

Hi,

I see that Bubba links a number of config files to /etc/bubba. I have edited my sshd_config for example, and when I do a software update on B3, will these files be overwritten ? Do I need to re-edit them everytime I do a software update ?

Thanx

Your sshd_config will be overwritten if you install a newer version of sshd. The files that get overwritten the most are ones relevant to to the web interface (apache config files, php files etc). It's wise to create a backup of any files you edit for this reason.

It's always to version your /etc files anyhow. git does this just fine as long as you manage the access rights properly.
