No UPnP

Post by JohanW »

Hi

The UPnP has stopped working from my Bubba. I reinstalled the Bubba with a USB-stick and that worked fine. I can reach the bubba files and web-admin from my laptop "\\bubba\"
The Bubba does not turn up as a avaliable UPnP in windows, or in On2Share or on my soundbridge.
I have music in folders in \\Bubba\home\storage\music

What can be wrong?

First quick test: Please double check that the service is enabled (in web-admin under "services", when logged on as admin).

Please get back to us if it doesn't solve your problem.

I have ticked both boxes: UPNP and DAAP

JohanW,

You have updated to latest firmware version?

Could you try to first uncheck the UPNP service, press update and then check it again and press update. This would cause the service to restart. Does that solve your problem?

I did that - does not work.

Since I have both On2Share and soundbridge telling me bubba can not be found I think it is a bubba problem. I have used the bubba-soundbridge combination before and it worked fine. Now suddenly not.

What would be my next step?
Reinstalling bubba?

Ok something other is failing then.

Could you take a look into mediatombs logfile? Its located in /var/log/mediatomb.

EDIT:
Please ignore. I just saw in your first post that you can access the device via \\bubba...

Hi JohanW,

How is your network configured?
Is bubba under the same local network hub/switch as the renderer?

I had a similar problem when my ISP decided to block NetBIOS packages without notifying me... "bubba" could no longer be found on the windows network, because it was not on the same local network. It used to work just fine, but then all of a sudden, it didn't. I had to buy a new router and reconfigure the whole thing :-(
