"Attempting to restart tx logic"

Post by DanielM »

Hi.
I'm still experiencing wifi problems after 2.4 upgrade. Thought they were all solved, but then tometimes the entire net just stops for a moment. Kinda irritating when I'm in the middle of a movie and it just freezes.

So in the hunt for causes I stumbled over lines like this in my /var/log/kern.log:

Code: Select all

Feb 9 20:17:36 b3 kernel: [1121710.139984] ath: txq: ded918fc axq_qnum: 2, mac80211_qnum: 2 axq_link: ffda24b8 pending frames: 1 axq_acq empty: 0 stopped: 0 axq_depth: 0 Attempting to restart tx logic.
I'm talking about loads of them, like 10MB in the last week. Is this normal? Anyone else seeing this?

No.

And wifi speeds appear to be good for me again.

Hi,

I'm having the same when connecting to the wifi, but the timing of these messages seems to coincide with one specific laptop connecting to my B3. (I've got two laptops, one desktop, two phones, two Squeezeboxes and an Ipad also using the WLAN-connection). As far as I can see none of these cause the messages.

Spot on! I'm getting these messages when I connect my htpc. And it's only when I'm watching movies on the htpc I experience the freezes. So I guess my htpc and my B3 simply aren't the best of friends. I'm still kinda hoping these messages could help me finding what's wrong so I could fix it...

I really don't know much about this but we are updating the wifi stuff for 2.4.1 or 2.4.2 (not yet decided) since we have other issues as well. Hence, if there are fixes for this upstream you will get them soon.
