Did the new firmware break the n-wifi?

Hello!
I downloaded the latest 2.2.3 firmware in my B3 a couple of days ago.
My B3 is working as a server/firewall/wireless AP for my home network.
A Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH with DD-WRT is connected to it wirelessly as a client in 40MHz 300n mode.
I suppose the new n-wifi rules are adopted in the newest (2.2.3) firmware, since the bandwidth dropped from 300 to 150 after the update.
I don't mind that, but what I do mind is that the practical file transfer speed is now fluctuating around 2MB/s and seems to be extremely unstable. No disconnections though...

My wireless G clients are working normaly, with normal data transfer speeds.

Am I the only one, or are others experiensing a similar issue?

That is strange. I've been running the ner kernel now for two weeks and for me it's extremely much more stable than the old one. When you say it's running only 150 Mb/s, is that the number the Buffalo is giving you or do you base it on actual transfer speeds?

I'm also unsure what you mean by 40MHz mode. 802.11n supports either 2.4 or 5 GHz...

Actual transfer speed is around 2MB/s, but as said fluctuating alot, sometimes dropping to zero for a short time.
Link speed is stable 130mb/s for TX and RX.

I have just connected this router (Buffalo) to an other n-spec AP and the same problem still persists with it, so it seems to have nothing to do with the Excito B3.
Funny how it came at the same time with the update though...
Anyways it's once again the DD-WRT being more or less a bad joke as usual.

Sorry. Thought you were talking about the frequency, in which case 40 MHz would have been a strange number

Anyways, I've never used DD-WRT, but everyone I know who's been playing with it says it's very good. Guess it could vary from device to device how well it performs...

I don't know if your device is compatible with Tomato, but it might be worth checking out.
I used to be a DD-WRT user but have converted to Tomato and I'm very happy with it. It's not as configurable but (IMHO) far more user friendly and stable.

There are a couple of forks of Tomato, so don't just stop at the original one, examine the forks as well.
