Accessing Bubba 2 media through router?

Post by SnoWhat »

Hi!

Kind of a newbie question, but I have this (wired) setup:
Internet<->Bubba2<->Asus RT-N10 Router<->various dlna clients.

Now, I can't see the B2 from any of my clients. Is there any way to connect a dlna server through the WAN port of a router?
I can access the Mediatomb UI in the browser on port 49152.

Upnp is enabled on the router (on the WAN page, no less), I've tried port forwarding ports 1900 and 49152-65535 but no luck.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Did you connect the Bubba to the WAN-side of the router? Is there a free port to connect your Bubba to the LAN-side. this will solve any problems and the Bubba will act as the firewall. An alternative to switch off the firewall on the router.

Ok, kinda solved it... I set my Blu-ray/media player in DMZ which allows it to see the Bubba and read the files. However it only solves the problem for one client.
By the way, shutting down the firewall doesn't help, I suspect the router stops multicast packets between LAN and WAN... maybe dd-wrt for the router would fix it? Too lazy right now, maybe later...
