You just save the torrent files to \\b3\home\<username>\torrents, then ftd (the torrent downloader) will pick them up immediately and start downloading.

Did I understand your question right?

What ports did you open?

And you are sure there are any seeders for the torrent?

Hmmm... I've never heard of any site that says they support it (since it's not very well known), yet I've also never come across any site that doesn't work. Torrent is torrent, right? But I don't know...

Hi,

I've never heard of a site that explicitly say they support Excitos FTD, but limiting the support to specific clients isn't that uncommon (at least not among the private trackers, PB and the like are usually generous). This is actually the most common "BubbaMon problem" I receive questions about, as most users suspect the problem is within BubbaMon when it really is the tracker that doesn't allow the client.

A note to all users of BubbaMon: the intermediate mode in BubbaMon does not solve this issue. If a tracker doesn't support FTD, then intermediate mode will not change this. The intermediate mode only solve the issue about the need to be logged in when fetching the ".torrent-file".

Hi,

Most trackers support rTorrent, but I'm not sure if there is a web interface. Transmission has one, but I'm not so sure about how well it is supported. Examine the list on the sites you use and see if you can find a common client.

I find that the more interesting the tracker, the more they limit the allowed clients.
The ones I use most only allow Vuze and µTorrent, unfortunately.
I did manage to get Vuze up and running on the B3, but it took nearly 100% CPU:

Isn't there a way for FTP to pretend to be this other clients? Bit like Opera mimics being firefox for braindead websites.

I'm speculating here, but talking from experience of other protocols:

There is a reason the trackers limit the allowed clients. The spec of the protocol is loose, so many implementations differ. The server relies on the client identification to make allowances for different behaviour.
In other words, they have to write client-specific code for each client. If the FTD were to falsely identify itself as something it isn't, it would lead to problems and probably get users banned from their trackers...

My 2 cents...

I checked with my tracker and it supports Transmission. Does anyone know how to install it and enable the webinterface?
