B2 esata not working (with Freecom Quattro 2TB)

Post by nerochiaro »

Hello everyone,
I bought a Freecom Quattro 2TB external drive and I wanted to connect it to my B2 via esata.
So I just plugged it in and with the esata cable and was expecting it to show up as available to mount, but nothing appeared.
I ssh'd into the B2 and I saw this on dmesg:

It doesn't look very good.
The same disk has also USB connectors and if I connect the disk via USB the B2 sees it allright.
It seems that the B2 and the disk can't talk to each other over esata for some reason.

Is that something I can do about this ?
Or perhaps the fine people at Excito can do something about this ?
Or do I have to just suck it up and use the disk via USB only ?

Thanks,

this could be completely stupid, but what happens when you stick the drive into the other esata port on the B2?

Same problem (with ata4 on the dmesg message instead)
