Currently I use my bubba|two as server only
I connect bubba to my modem/router fritzbox 7170.
I've made port forwarding in my fritzbox for port 20,21,22,80
I can access bubba-webinterface remotely using browser http://myipaddress:8080
I've tried using putty to connect to bubba with no luck.
I don't know how to setup putty so I can reach bubba from outside.
any help ?

Using FTP
Re: Using FTP
Nope...
In Putty:
I define my ipaddress with port 2222 (defined in my modem/router - port forwarding)
I forwarded both TCP and UDP
I got a new window (black) and a few second later I got an error message:
Network error: Connection timed out

Re: Using FTP
sounds like your problem is in your router, not in your bubba
Re: Using FTP
@Ubi - Can you please explain why you thing the problem is in my router?
I CAN connect bubba-webinterface from internet using port-forwarding setting in my router.
As I mentioned before I've forwarded port 8080 to port 80 of my router...It works..
In my opinion port-forwarding of my router is OK.
Maybe somebody using AVM-Fritzbox7170 and Bubba as "Server only" can guide me how they setup their ssh client or ftp client.

Re: Using FTP
Hi mango,
It is a bit unclear, but here is how I understand it (please correct me if I'm wrong):
You have forwarded all incoming requests from the internet to your router on port 8080 to port 80 on your bubba, and it works.
You have also forwarded incoming requests on port 2222 to port 22 on your bubba, but it fails.
If this is the case, I have this to offer from personal experience:
Perhaps it is the network which you are trying to connect FROM that is at fault?
My employer blocks outgoing traffic on all ports except 22, 80 and 8080. I'm not saying this is the problem you are facing, only suggesting it might be, and worth looking into.
Try forwarding port 8080 to 22 and see if you can connect from outside using putty with port 8080?
Best regards,
/Cheeseboy

Re: Using FTP
@Cheeseboy ...you understand me correctly.
I was trying using putty from my work. I have the same thought as you that maybe my works blocks a certain traffic. I can ftp to a certain address using putty but not to my ip. Maybe they put some rules for using ftp. I will try using putty from my friends house and see if I can make connection.

Re: Using FTP
That's true, but don't tell me you did not understand that it was SSH he meant from the start, with the port number used, previous mentions of putty etc.PuTTY does not do FTP!!

You even posted a link regarding SSH...
Re: Using FTP
Yeah I know, but considering the OP has trouble setting up a router, and many routers have predefined ports for "FTP", and other users than us may be reading this thread and get confused, I thought it was worth pointing this out. My original thought was that OP made a typo, but he is so consistent in this error I think the quality of the thread is improved if we start saying SSH when we mean SSH...
Re: Using FTP
I agree.other users than us may be reading this thread and get confused
Hey mango, could you please edit your posts (if possible) and change FTP to SSH?
Cheers!
EDIT:
Eh, perhaps not. Editing all the posts will probably make this thread unreadable...
