I received my brand new Bubba|Two a few days ago and now I got time for installing it but I just can't access it.
I have tested with a simple network layout:
Internet(ADSL)-----(WAN)Bubba(LAN)-----PC(WinXP/W2k)
Bubba starts up and stops blinking after some time and after that I start my PC expecting it to receive an IP from Bubba but it does not. I have tested with two different PCs and a number of cables. The only thing that happens is that the network symbol down to the right in WinXP keeps going 'network cable connected' - 'network cable disconnected' - 'network cable connected' - 'network cable disconnected'... In W2k the network is totally dead.
My feeling is that something is serioulsy wrong with this units since both my PCs work fine hooked up to an other router with DHCP server or directly to my ADSL modem.
Should I just send the Bubba back and hope for a better one next time? (I don't have the special USB memory to try to reinstall SW)

Can't access brand new bubba
Re: Can't access brand new bubba
well, I have ordered the installation USB from excito. We'll see if it helps in any way unless somebody here has some good ideas.

Re: Can't access brand new bubba
Hi there,
Just a thought, watch the light on the ethernet port of the computer AND on the Bubba, they should both light up when there is network activity.
If they don't light up, you might be able to put it down to a hardware issue?

Re: Can't access brand new bubba
On the Bubba only the right LAN LED slowly blinks green for some time after connecting the cable to the laptop, then it is off. On the laptop both LEDs blinks in sequence: left-right-right-pause-left-right-right-pause and so on...
If everything was okay I would expect one of the LED to be constantly on and the other LED blinking to indicate traffic.
Hopefully the usb memory shows up tomorrow so I can try to reinstall and see if that does any good.

Re: Can't access brand new bubba
After reinstalling SW form the usb memory I am on-line
Regarding the LEDs I don't know how they are supposed to blink on this unit... The left one seams to indicate 100 MB traffic and the right one 1 GB traffic? (talking about the top LAN port here) I was expecting something more 'normal' with one LED indicating connection with other unit and the other one for traffic.
Otherwise the Bubba seams to be working as it should, but it would be nice with a little bit more speed. File transfer is slow at ~3 Mbyte/s...
