media player missing files

I have recently got a sumvision mkv cyclone as listed here :http://www.ebuyer.com/product/188647.

I have the device set up over home plugs and router to play files held on bubba2.

I can browse to the bubba and see files that are there in storage directory. However some files are not visable to the device. I have compared the permissions on visable and files not shown by doing

ls -l

and the output for them is identical.

Can anybody think of any reason why these may not show up? a hidden attiribute or some thing? the files are visable to computers attached to the same router.

It is possible to telnet to the media player and log in as root, it appears to be running a cut down vmlinux if this is any help...

Any help would be greatly received...

After some more playing, it appears that what I can see is being offered up by media tomb, however I'm still only seeing some things in PC-DIRECTORY, anybody clued up on media tomb?
