Re: libtorrent
i would think admin>settings>update updates all relevant packages without bad side effects already.
i have successfully added other packages to b2 using apt-get install but they were ~not~ featured in the admin gui.
i have the latest updates installed on my b2. i can find no man page or reference to "torrent" or "libtorrent" in them using "man -k <search key>". i am not sure what version of libtorrent i am using.
in the gui there is only the <user>login>Downloads which only users have access to. which is the "Download manager". download manager downloads large files while the b is not busy. the docs on download manager note that "When downloading bittorrents, note that the download manager will continue to share the file until you press Cancel or Clear.". i have never used the download manager so i am not sure what this means.
do you have a specific reason to change the libtorrent version?

Re: libtorrent
Hi Peder,
Which libtorrent are you referring to? The one used by Excitos download manager, ftd, or the one used by fx rtorrent?
The one used by Excito, Rasterbars libtorrent, is actually compiled into the binary and thus is not upgradeable in any other way then rebuilding the download manager.
