SOLVED !!!

Tricked Bubba2 AND iPhone (with MS-outlook :o )

Problem was that iPhone somehow did not want to accept SSL from Bubba2

I (ab)used MS-Outlook (since I still use the NAB from MS)
I temporarily added the IMAP account to MS-Outlook.
Synced and confirmed the SSL in MS-outlook
Synced and confirmed the iPhone (make sure COM - iTunes Outlook Addin is running)
Removed account from MS-outlook
Added account in iPhone manually
and now the Bubba2 and iPhone accept each other.

and the lived happily after...

Thnx, Marc

I had about the same problem. I was trying to connect imap from the internet. At the first connect between iPhone and imap, you must see a warning about the self signed signature and confirm it. If you don't get this warning then something got wrong and it might be good idea to remove your bubba-imap-account on the iphone and start again, which i did

MY SETTINGS on the iPhone

Hostname someserver.dyndns.org
User User-for-imap
Password password-for-imap

in the advanced setting

SSL on
Identifikation Password
IMAP-Path /
ServerPort 993
