Error message in admin interface

Post by bubberik »

Each time I click the "Disk" entry in the upper main menu of the admin interface, I get the following error message in a rather messed up page about disk usage:

--start error message --
A PHP Error was encountered

Severity: Warning

Message: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()

Filename: disk/disk_view.php

Line Number: 11
-- end error mesage --

First question: can others reproduce this?

TIA.

Yes. I got the same thing with my new Bubba two unit.

I Logged in via ssh when examining the partition table of the Bubba Two unit, parted complained.....

>Warning: /dev/sda contains GPT signatures, indicating that it has a GPT table. However, it does not have a >valid fake msdos partition table, as it should. Perhaps it was corrupted -- possibly by a program that doesn't >understand GPT partition tables. Or perhaps you deleted the GPT table, and are now using an msdos >partition table. Is this a GPT partition table?

I tried a rescue system boot via USB. Did not work. I could not log in and pressing the power button did nothing ( could hold it in for 10-20 sec and it would not power down). So I unplugged it. Now my unit is unreachable even via direct connection to my PC (I gave the PC a 192.168.10.xx address). Moreover, now when I plug the unit in the LED does not flash at all (i.e. no boot activity) and pressing the power button does not provoke any response. Help.

Sorry to hear that. I've got no such problems. Just the error message, that's all.

So, anyone else seeing the error message?

Thanks,

Erik

Hi bubberik and daviddonovan,

bubberik, could you please tell us your hardware configuration? Could it be that you have an external disk attached?

daviddonovan, if i understand correctly your unit worked fine to start with? And then malfunctioned with the symptoms you describe? Unfortunately the part with a solid lit led at boot makes me suspect that your unit is broken. Please contact support@excito.com

My hardware configuration is as follows:

it'a brand new plain bubba2 (which was delivered directly by excito only a few weeks ago), with a 1 TB internal hard disk.

No external drives attached, just the LAN cable connected to a router (network profile = server mode only).

bubberik, this is strange. There is a known issue in the disk page, that some external drives makes this page display that message. Could it be that you have an USB memory inserted?

This is fixed in our upcoming sw release, due any day now.

Hello Johannes,

There are no USB devices connected to my bubba.

We have released the new 1.3 version now, with some fixes in the disk feature. Did you try to upgrade? Does it work better? If not we'll investigate this deeper.

Thanks

Hi Johannes,

I just tried to do a software update by clicking "Settings - Update" in the admin interface (keeping the checkbox for hotfixes checked). After that, the interface remained in a hanging state for some 15 minutes:

the progress bar indicating a steady 0.00% with a message "Checking for hotfixes"

After about 15 minutes without visual progress, I logged out from the interface and tried once more with the same (lack of) result.

I'm afraid that there's more broken than I thought. And now I think of it: after I first plugged the bubba|two into the power socket, I performed an initial update. That update did start, but somewhere along the procedure there were a few (two?) messages indicating a temporary error. I don't exactly remember which ones, but I do remember that they mentioned to do nothing, just wait. Right now, I'm not sure whether that initial update has completed.

Do you have any directions for me how to proceed[*]? I'm thinking of doing a complete re-install, but maybe that's yet a bit too drastic?

Thanks,

Erik.
