Re: recovering data from damaged disk
tnx all, pretty sure my disk is corrupted as bubba wouldn't even boot anymore (replacing it fixed it). Gonna work from my PC with one of the live CD's and try that first.

recovering data from damaged disk
Hi there,
my bubba's disk got corrupted and I 'm wondering if I can try to recover some of the data ? I have allready replaced the disk (at my own expense), but still have the old one and I connected it with a case to the usb drive.
An fdisk -l does show the disk, but says "Disk /dev/dm-0 doesn't ...

Re: Extremely slow file transfer after 2.3 update?
I found out in this thread http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3948 that win7 can also be the cause of slow file transfers (just fyi as probably not applicable to this issue that has to do with a bubba update)

wow, disabling autotuning and rdc made a world of difference, copying goes much faster now and actually finishes. Tnx for putting me on the win7 track

Re: samba very slow to copy files to (non wifi) b3 on local
ok, had been searching for samba and slow transfer rates, but your reply made me do a search on win7 and slow transfers and boy did I get results.
Haven't tried these yet, but gonna (unless someone has had bad experiences with that ?)

video files, so that certainly sounds like a possibility, any ideas on how to see if that's the issue and / or fix ?

Re: samba very slow to copy files to (non wifi) b3 on local
* b3 latest version (2.5.0.1)
* pc: win7 (64bit)
* storage mapped as a drive in window explorer
I just tested a 90M file which went ok, then with a couple of files (6) varying from 40 - 60M and then the problem starts, rate slowly drops to a halt.

[Solved] samba very slow to copy files to (non wifi) b3
Hi,
I have a b3 (not a wifi) in my network as a stand alone server (fixed ip). My pc is connected to the network over wifi. Downloading files from the internet goes fast, but when I try to copy files over to my b3 storage folder the speed rapidly goes down (untill it almost stops). Any ideas on ...

reinstalling bubba on minimal debian
Hi there,
I reverted my b3 to a minimal debian as explained here: http://wiki.excito.org/wiki/index.php/Revert_to_minimal_Debian_installation. I did this to do some drupal/php dev on my b3 but sadly it's just too slow, so I moved my dev to a virtual box on my pc and now I want to switch my b3 back ...

Re: minidlna needs higher "max_user_watches"
In this post it says that minidlna considers anything below 65536 as being low, not sure if that's official info: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=613219.
And now I checked I also see that the value I set is overwritten.
