Just thought I'd briefly share that I was able to upgrade the MiniDLNA server to version 1.0.24 with the following steps (as usual no guarantees, and I am not sure how this will sit with a later upgrade of the B3):

Alright... after 2 hours of research step 1 is solved - the autofs4 module is installed without recompiling the entire kernel. (That doesn't necessarily mean the USB auto mount will be working though...)

Great question!!! Drive was formatted NTFS which was the reason it didn't work. Just installed the support for NTFS as per the wiki and all worked. Turns out though that streaming to the XBOX 360 over a wireless connection is less than great - i.e. movies take for ever to initiate... LAN cable ...
