Re: Can't login via SSH on port 22 anymore, WEB-interface wo

Ok thanks for the input.

Reformatting and reinstalling my Bubba Two now... 8)

Thanks also for the clarification on the mistake with missing dot in my CHMOD command. I immediately felt when I pressed return on that command ("CHMOD 777 -R -v /*") that this was going to cause problems for me ...

Re: Can't login via SSH on port 22 anymore, WEB-interface wo

Aha ok but would that still be possible eventhough my Bubba Two is behind a router and firewall and no port forwarding enabled?

How would somebody outside my internal lan be able to even ping my Bubba router with my router and firewall in between? Would it be possible by some use of UPnP if that is ...

Re: Can't login via SSH on port 22 anymore, WEB-interface wo

Eeehhmm... Yepp, I realised that after reading more about the chmod command...

Anyway, I will restore my system to intial configuration by reformatting the Bubba Two with a brand new image. Done it before so it is not a problem to do it again...

However, I am curios how a hacker ...

Re: Can't login via SSH on port 22 anymore, WEB-interface wo

Yepp that is one way I could try... I might just reinstall the Bubba image over again since I do not have too much data on my Bubba Two yet.

I was thinking if a faulty executed CHMOD command could cause some files to get wrong permissions cause this?

I was logged into Bubba Two as root and ...

Re: Can't login via SSH on port 22 anymore, WEB-interface wo

Yes I have tried with restarting my Bubba a couple of times.

It might be an firewall issue because I am testing a new 3G Router, Vololink VA125 with embedded 3G modem but I was indeed able to use Putty into my Bubba since Friday but now this morning it suddenly has stopped working...

I have even ...

Can't login via SSH on port 22 anymore, WEB-interface works

Suddenly I can not login to my Bubba Two via Putty (or Kitty) anymore.

I can ping my Bubba Two and I can also access my Bubba Two via the web interface.

Everytime I try to connect via SSH I get "Network error: Software caused connection abort".

I have checked my user in Bubba Two via the web ...

Re: What image-files to copy to USB when reinstalling?

Thx for confirming this Tor.

The reason for why I didn't manage to get the rescue image to be installed was probably that I kept the power button depressed too long. If I keep the power button pressed in for NO MORE than the stipulated 5 seconds after that the Bubba light has started to blink, the ...

What image-files to copy to USB when reinstalling?

I am preparing to reinstall my Bubba Two (have by mistake locked out shell access...) but I am unsure of what files to copy to my USB disk (that has a partition table).

Looking at http://update.excito.net/install/latest/bubba-two/ I find the image file itself, "b2-install-2.0.zip" that download and ...

Re: Default file and directory permissions?

He, he... Yes I suspected that and will do a complete reinstall from the latest Bubba Two image...

Fortunately I didn't have too much data yet since my Bubba Two is quite new (eventhough I bought 6 months ago...)

Default file and directory permissions?

Being a newbie on Linux... I have been able to set wrong directory- and file permissions on my Bubba Two.

After that I was unable to for example start the Bubba Two web gui... :-(

I logged in via Putty and changed to root user and performed "chmod -Rv 777 /*"and then it works but I don't ...

Re: How to install Midnight Commander on Bubba Two?

I just press F5, F10 and so on and it performs the commands...

I can even use the cursor of the mouse and click on the commands and menus.

He, he... This gives me "flashbacks" of the 80ies when I was using Norton Commander in DOS...

Re: How to install Midnight Commander on Bubba Two?

I realised now that the swedish characters åäö does not work in MC eventhough I have been able to get them to work in the same Putty-window from where I start MC... Any ideas?

Strange, I restarted MC and now it works with åäö in MC too...

Re: How to install Midnight Commander on Bubba Two?

Ok great!

So is it the line "deb http://update.excito.org/ marielle main" in the file /etc/apt/sources.list that should be replaced with deb http://archive.debian.org/debian sarge main or shall I just add that path to that file?

EDIT:
I just added the line and then ran:

apt-get update

and then ...

Re: NTFS-3g

Hi there

Is the described way above still valid if I want to install NTFS-3G on my Bubba Two server with 2 external SATA disks with NTFS formatted data or has the paths to the packages changed?
