Hi! I am a very content user of a B2. As the HD is getting quite old, I am about to preemtively replace it before it crashes. I was thinking of an SSD.
What advice do you have? Do SSDs work with B2 and its standard OS? Or do I have to pick a particular brand?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Installing a windows system on B3?
I suppose you could try to use one of those USB-connected video cards. Might be tough to get the right drivers running on bubba though.

Re: locked out by faulty sshd config -- an idea
I have my doubts whether the rescue stick uses its own sshd_config. Can someone from Excito comment on this?
I bought an installation usb stick from Excito to use for rescue. I edited bubba.cfg to not install, partition nor format anything. I then followed the instructions for rescue (attach wan to ...

mt-daapd does not index .flac
Bubba's default installation of mt-daapd seems to be slightly broken. It is supposed to be able to index .flac-files, but it doesn't. Perhaps your dpkg-packaging is missing some dependency?

Re: Use mobile internet 3g USB dongle as WAN
especially since I'm really considering buying a 3g router just for this purpose.
I did too, before I realised I should buy a Bubba2 instead. A bit more expensive, but of course you get so much more than a 3g router for the money. Also, I don't trust the 3g router firewall. With iptables, I can ...

Re: Use mobile internet 3g USB dongle as WAN
There are some places which have "eth0" statically defined
Thanks for reminding me!
We have also though of the possibility of using an dongle as WAN, so perhaps we will include such feature as this in the future.
Sounds nice. It would definitely be convenient to have a single WAN interface ...

Use mobile internet 3g USB dongle as WAN
Disclaimer: no guarantees given. If you brick your unit, tough luck. Anyhow, it works neatly for me. I hope I remember all the steps here.
Being a cheapskate, I have cancelled my ADSL internet and use the mobile internet 3g dongle at home. I get 3-4Mbit/s which is sufficient for my needs. This is ...

ip telephony
My goal is to eliminate as many little silly power consuming boxes as possible, and replace their functionality with Bubba. The router/firewall is gone, hopefully soon the WLAN router as well, the nas harddrive too. Another box I want to eliminate is the IP Telephony box. I've had two, one from ...

mobile internet
If I stick a mobile internet 3g dongle into Bubba|Twos USB port, I would like Bubba|Two to be able to use it as the primary WAN connection. Just as the LAN and the future WLAN can access the ethernet-WAN today, it should be able to access the mobile internet WAN.
